Redmi smartphones, without a doubt, have always been an affordable option and so far, Xiaomi has provided a plethora of best entry-level handsets in the UK market. At first glance, Redmi Note 7 looks a flagship – thanks to its back with plastic sides and glass front. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Key Specs are related to 6.3-inches IPS LCD, 48MP + 5MP AI dual rear camera, 13MP front-facing camera, up to 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of onboard memory, 4000mAh battery, Snapdragon 660 and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Read on to find out more!

Pricing and Availability

The official Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 release date was somewhere back in January 2019 and it’s now available on UK shelves to get your hands on with ease. It’s available in four sensational colours to choose from i.e. Twilight Gold, Black, White, and Blue. As far as Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Price UK is concerned, one can buy that beast after spending approx. £179 – indeed competitive. Isn’t it? The £179 price tag seems similar to the likes of Motorola Moto G7 Power but if you desire a boost on that, Motorola Moto G7 Plus then is an excellent option but it costs approx. £50 extra. The alternative devices such as Honor 8X and Honor 10 Lite can be considered to buy compared to Redmi Note 7 as you only need to spend around £200 (maybe less).

Specifications:

Design and Build:

The Redmi Note 7 is backed by some major design changes. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on back and front and a “Dot” notch on the front to house a front-facing camera. Unfortunately, it’s not a waterproof smartphone but has a higher probability of evolving unharmed after a spillage. The downside is that it feels a little thick as it has a flat back and you need to compromise on a second SIM to use a microSD card. The power button and volume rockers are slightly clicky and bezels around the screen are quite slim. The overall design looks good for its price and a significant improvement compared to the last three generations.

Display:

Honestly speaking, there is nothing wrong to complain about its display. A 6.3-inches IPS LCD is one of the best Redmi Note 7 Features that take your enjoyment to the next level when watching movies or playing games. The display, performance-wise, is highly crisp and sharp, dynamic range and contrast are pretty awesome too. And interestingly, colours are punchy even without being oversaturated. Whites are not overwhelmed by cold blue tones, as MIUI 10 offers plenty of customization options that should allow you to adjust the display according to your preferences.

Camera:

Without a doubt, Redmi’s smartphones shine when it comes to a camera department. The Redmi Note 7 Camera is consisting of a dual 48MP + 5MP AI rear cameras whereas a 13MP front-facing camera helps to capture selfies with your loved ones. The main 48MP camera is designed to capture stunning images in a 12MP mode. You can, however, shoot in full 48MP resolution as well using a “Pro Mode”. Talking about its portrait mode, it’s quite excellent but not really perfect. Besides, it has a “Night Mode” to improve your night time shots and importantly, it can enhance the sharpness and dynamic range as well.

Performance:

Xiaomi is the first smartphone maker which is giving importance to chipsets on their budget-friendly devices and interestingly, Redmi Note 7 is taking a massive lead alongside its elder brother Redmi Note 7 Pro. It’s equipped with Snapdragon 660 Chipset – backed by up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard memory. That configuration makes it close to last year’s BlackBerry Key2 and Nokia 7 Plus. To cut long story short, it’s up to snuff in terms of performance as apps don’t take too much to load – moreover, switching between apps, playing graphics-enriched games or working on multiple apps at once, everything is super-smooth and silky.

Battery:

As expected, a gigantic 4000mAh non-removable battery takes you throughout the day and more (with a casual use). The phone is bundled with a 5V 2A charger in the box which restores the juice from 0% to 100% in two hours approx. The super-fast charging, however, you can purchase a separate QC 4.0 charger but these aren’t affordable. The best alternative is 15W QuickCharge 3.0 adapter that can be bought from Xiaomi’s online store for only $6.
